Herzberg’s two-factor Theory: (Motivational & Maintenance factors

Herzberg’s two-factor Theory: (Motivational & Maintenance factors): Based on the results of the study, Herzberg concluded that the presence of the good job contains factors leads to satisfaction, and the absence of good job context factors leads to dissatisfaction. The findings were suggested that the best way to motivate workers is to satisfy their needs for job contain factors. He contended that hygiene factors are very important to prevent workers from feeling dissatisfied but did not lead their satisfaction.

Motivators in his two-factor theory correspond to the higher lever needs of esteem & self-actualization in Maslow’s needs hierarchy, while the hygiene corresponds to Maslow’s physiological, safety and social needs
